Personal Reflections - You Can Always Lie
Note from Beverley
Friday 13th - if you are superstitious you may have stayed in bed and hidden from the world. As for me it was my birthday so the 13th doesn't scare me at all. In saying that I did have my 13th birthday on Friday 13th and it was my worst birthday ever. However since then I have had great years and years of quiet contemplation (must be my age!)
This year I got up at 6.20 to drive down to Poole in Dorset where I delivered a presentation on Executive Onboarding, which went down very well - lots of provoking thought which I love! In the evening, I went to my favourite Indian restaurant where they looked after me well and as it was my birthday they treated me to complementary dessert - a good way to celebrate another year.
Have a good week.

One Step Further
What is it about time management that seems to be such an issue with so many people? You know what to do and yet you don't do it. You know how to plan, you know how to schedule, you know how to prioritise but something gets in the way. So let me reinforce the benefits and value of good time management.
The Benefits of Good Time Management
More Control - Less Confusion
More Progress - Less Stagnation
Increased Achievement - Decreased Failure
More Focus - Less Randomness
More Doing the Right Things Right - Less Doing the Wrong Things Right
The Value Of Good Time Management Skills
Assuming an average of 220 x 8 hour days per year Calculate how much extra time you could have if…
* You save 5 minutes a day, you will increase your productivity by 2.3 full days.
* You save 30 minutes a day, you will increase your productivity by 13.75 full days.
* You save one hour a day, you will increase your productivity by 27.5 full days.
"There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all." Peter Drucker
So you can see how even small incremental changes can "give you back" time. All you have to do is choose to act differently
Your future your choice
Personal Reflections
You can always lie!
That was what a member of the team I am about to start working with said as we were discussing personality profiling and the value of being more self aware.
It struck me that this was an "interesting" response and
a) Not very mature,
b) Showed a deep insecurity
c) Reinforced to her colleagues why "she is like she is"
d) Would make working with her a challenge - which I'm up for
I accept these are my perceptions and perhaps they are inaccurate. I will wait and see.
It also made me reflect on why I sometimes don't acknowledge things I know to be true either about myself or my business. In that moment of reflection I realise that I too "lie to myself" about what is real, what is helpful, what is valuable and what I truly believe.
Why do I do that? Well I can only think that either I am getting value from lying to myself in some way or that I am lying to myself because the reality is all too scary.
Those of you that are NLP practitioners, psychologists and holders of "ologies" will, I'm sure, have your own view. As for me I need to own up more or I could go and make a cup of tea and live the lie a few moments longer.
What about you? What are you lying to your self about?
Best Regards
Bev
