Midweek Musical Magic – Most People are Good

I felt drawn to link this week’s Midweek Musical Magic to yesterday’s blog post on The Kindness of Strangers, so I’ve chosen Most People Are Good, written by David Frasier, Ed Hill and Josh Kear and sung by Luke Bryan.

“I believe most people are good
And most mama’s oughta qualify for sainthood…
I believe that days go slow and years go fast
And every breath’s a gift, the first one to the last”

  • We could easily be lead to believe that the World is a scary place, “THEY” are out to get us or hurt us or negatively impact our beliefs, dreams and ways of life.
  • We could be driven to overly protect our children or encourage them to grow up too fast.
  • We could be inclined to isolate and separate ourselves from those who are different or who believe in different things than we do.
  • We could deny our life preferences and choices and hide who we are for fear of what others may do think or feel.

Yet what does that accomplish except more of the same – denial, fear, separation, isolation and ultimately unhappiness.

Life is short so can we find a different way?

“I believe most people are good
And most mama’s oughta qualify for sainthood
I believe most Friday nights look better under neon or stadium lights
I believe you love who you love
Ain’t nothing you should ever be ashamed of
I believe this world ain’t half as bad as it looks
I believe most people are good”
